Dilemma.

Dilemma: state of uncertainty or perplexity especially as requiring a choice between equally unfavorable options

I have a huge dilemma right now. Let me set the scene for you: On Thursday night, I had a little bit of the sniffles. Of course I didn’t care and proceeded to go out to Puffton and play flip cup for 4 hours. Friday morning I was sufficiently hungover and the sniffles turned into a fever and clogged sinuses. However, my girlfriend was coming this weekend soooo of course I just took some medicine and continued on my merry way back to Puffton to drink and stay up til 4:30. Woke up Saturday morning around 10:30 and the illness progressed into a cough. Nothing too horrible, but a cough nonetheless. Also, my sinuses were exploding. Naturally, I loaded up on medicine and went on my way. Sunday morning, woke up and died. After driving for six hours going to and from NY and finally returning to UMass around midnight, I was certain that the grim reaper was going to collect my frail body since there was no way that my lungs were staying in my body after all of the coughing I was doing. After taking Robitussin, rubbing Vicks all over my chest and throat, sucking on a cough drop, and spraying my throat with chloraseptic, I realized that it was 1:30 and I was still coughing too much to fall asleep. Finally, I dozed off somewhere around 3. (I promise the dilemma is coming soon) Today I wake up and know that I have a long day ahead of me with work from 9-12 and then class til 3:30. I take my mucinex and robitussin and prepare my bag with halls, tissues, and purell to prevent the visitors of UMass from getting sick.

WARNING: those with a weak stomach, you’re warned. It’s about to get gruesome.

I am halfway down the hill, when I am certain that a lung is about to come up, instead all of the water I drank this morning as well as my robitussin comes right on up and onto to the hill. I manage to throw up and continue walking as if nothing occurred, but I’m certain that the freshmen walking behind me think that I am a raging alcohol who is hungover on Monday morning at 9am. I get to work and after sitting there for a half hour coughing so hard I think I pulled a muscle, I decide I am hungry and would love some bacon and eggs from Whitmore. I begin the trek towards food when I feel as though something is working its way up my throat again. Due to the many nights of college weekends, I can now tell when I am going to vomit at least 5 minutes prior to pukeage.

I make it to Whitmore where I vomit in the bathroom next to financial aid (you’re welcome to those waiting on line who got to listen to my upchucking). For those of you who were wondering, medicine tastes twice as bad coming up and pills hurt twice as much coming back up. After this second time of puking, I decide that it is time to call it a day. I return to the visitors center where Bryn (my boss) gladly says I can go home and get back up to my room where I have the comforts of my bed, tissues, and garbage can wedged between my bed and the wall.

Since being back in my room since about 10, I have thrown up at least 4 more times, which is weird since I haven’t eaten since about 3 yesterday. Here is where the dilemma lies.

DILEMMA: I can’t keep anything down, not even water. I am so effing hungry, I could kill a small animal and eat it. What I really want right now is some bacon. Now you may be asking yourself: Ally, why don’t you just go get some bacon? Well cause 1. Nowhere is still serving breakfast 2. I can’t get out of bed 3. I don’t think it would stay down and 4. I could not waste bacon by throwing it up later.

I don’t know what to do because I am starving, but I don’t think food is an option right now. So instead I will drink some water and watch Bitch Slap, a movie I found on netflix and am thoroughly excited for.

This is the longest post I’ve ever had. You can see how exciting it is to sit in my room doing nothing all day since I can’t even sleep since I don’t stop coughing. And Alex just got back from class and is sleeping so the shade is closed so I can’t even watch the UMassholes walk past my basement window like a creep :(

DILEMMA!
